In a rare gesture, some Doctors and like-minded social workers and professionals teamed up and floated Krishna Foundation, a non-profit organization, dedicated to providing professional health care services, Education and Rehabilitation to deserving poor/needy in Delhi and other states.
Krishna Foundation has been primarily working in Community Health, Education, Women empowerment, skill development and rehabilitation. This is evident from the fact that we have two qualified Doctors on the panel of our Executive body. The Governing body of Krishna Foundation has two qualified doctors, Social workers and professionals having experience of passionately working towards community Health, Education, Rehabilitation and women welfare augmentation/empowerment and Vocational/skill development of more than 15 years to their credit.
Krishna foundation was set up in 2001, as a non-profit organization and was registered under societies Registration Act of XXI of 1860, with the pioneering efforts of Dr.S.K.Tiwari and few Medical professionals and other dedicated social workers/professionals who had a common philosophy. It has undertaken various Healthcare, Skill development/vocational training programmes,Women welfare augmentation/empowerment programmes with the contributions provided by the members of Society and some programs have been undertaken in collaboration with Delhi Health Services, Government of NCT of Delhi (Mobile Health Clinic), National Aids Control Organization and Delhi State Aids Control Society (Target intervention as per NACP-III Guidelines with specific HIGH RISK GROUP of Injecting Drug Users of East Delhi, Patparganj and adjoining area’s), Directorate of Education, Govt. Of NCT (Project entitled “Nutrient and Micronutrient content in mid day meals provided to the children and fortification with vitamin A,B,C&D.”), (Gender Resource Centre) Mission Convergence, Govt of NCT, Delhi and Community Monitoring in the District of Haridwar, Uttarakhand under National Rural Health Mission in partnership with VCSG Medical college, Srinagar, Garhwal, UK.
